Ear-Nose and Throat Doctor (ENT) Questions Food Allergies

I am experiencing a mild itching sensation inside my throat. Could it be a food allergy?

I ate some fruit salad around a half hour ago and my throat is itchy, but it's so slight. I feel like it's not in danger of closing up but it's kind of annoying. Could this still be some kind of allergy even though it isn't severe?

Yes, it can certainly be a mild food allergy to one of the components of the salad.

Hard to pinpoint the reason for the itchy feeling. Food allergies may manifest as a form of itching of the oral cavity and there could be irritants as well. Maintain a log of your diet to see if the symptoms recur with similar foods or fruits.
Yes it could be
Could be reaction to acidity
Yes, it is possible that this was an allergic response. The thing about allergies is that often you me response will get worse with the second, third exposure and so on.

So, it may be wise to figure out what causes the reaction and try to avoid it in the future
It is possible that you're suffering from an allergy. In these situations, when there is exposure to fruits, the mild itching in the throat that you're experiencing could be due to an allergy to pollen residue left on the fruits and vegetables. There is a possibility that there could be a mild intrinsic allergy to one of the fruits themselves. Wash your fruits and vegetables thoroughly prior to eating them. If symptoms persist or become troublesome, I recommend that you see an allergist.
