Cardiologist Questions Blood Pressure

What should my ideal blood pressure be?

Heart disease runs in my family, and as I get older I am starting to worry more and more about my heart health. I am a 36 year old woman who is relatively healthy. What should my ideal blood pressure be at all times?

The recommended normal BP is less than 120/80. Many healthy young people may have Systolic pressures in 90-119 range normally.
There is now strong evidence that your systolic blood pressure should be kept BELOW 125 mm Hg on an average of several readings all at rest. Occasional higher readings are normal and not a worry.
