Dentist Questions Wisdom Tooth Extraction

Pain 5 days after tooth extraction?

I had my wisdom tooth extracted 5 days ago and I still have pain. Should I still be experiencing pain 5 days after it?

Not usually.
No, unless you acquired a dry socket.
Maybe, go back to see the Dr. who took them out.
You likely have a septic (dry) socket. An increase in pain at about 4 days post-extraction needs antibiotic treatment as well as medication placed in the socket.
Typically in 5 days you should have improvement with pain and soreness. There is a chance there is an infection or dry socket. You should follow up with the dentist that extracted the tooth.

Hope this helps.

It is common to experience pain 5 days post-extraction. If the pain is getting worse and not better though, you ought to get evaluated by the doctor who removed to tooth.
