Pain Management Specialist Questions Pain killers

What painkillers are considered safe for a blood pressure patient?

My father is a hypertension patient and has been advised to not take painkillers. Can you advise any safe alternatives that can be consumed by him?

He should not use any Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, Acetaminophen in correct doses may be safe.
This is an interesting question because pain medications can help reduce the level of pain. Uncontrolled pain can make hypertension worse. Please remember however, the pain medication is not the only route to controlling pain. Physical therapy, behavioral modification, and interventional procedures may also reduce pain substantially which may help your father with his pain while not interfering with his blood pressure.
