Can my child’s pediatrician also give vaccinations?

Can our pediatrician give vaccinations to my 1 year old or do we need to take our son to a hospital setting?

Yes. We can give immunizations. It’s part of our training.
Many pediatricians vaccinate their patients at their office. They usually are not vaccinated in hospitals.
Yes, of course. Most pediatricians can and will give vaccinations to children of all ages including adolescents. It is recommended that the vaccines be given at the child's regular Well Visits at the following ages: 2 mos, 4 mos, 6 mos, 9 mos, 12 mos, 15 mos, 18 mos, 24 mos, 30 mos, 3 yrs and every year after that. Well checks monitor growth and development and make sure the physical exam is normal and answer all your questions as well as giving vaccines.
Nearly all pediatricians give vaccines. If yours does not, check with the local health department. Most hospitals do not vaccinate except inpatients.
One of the main purposes of the pediatrician is to prevent diseases from occurring. To this end they are the primary givers of vaccines. If you were not aware of this, then perhaps you have not taking your child to the pediatrician. I think it would be in the best interest for you to make an appointment with a local pediatrician
