Pediatrician Questions Pediatrician Visit

Can a pediatrician also pierce childrens' ears?

For my daughter, who is now 4 years old, we are looking to pierce her ears. Can this ear piercing be carried out by her pediatrician?

Many pediatric offices offer ear piercing. My philosophy is to wait until your child asks you to pierce them unless there is a strong family history of "keloid" formation, then the suggestion would be to pierce before age 1.
Some pediatricians do this in the office. However, it is a cosmetic procedure and most insurance will not pay. Most people do not want to pay the cost of an office visit when you can get their ears pierced at the mall free with earrings. You would have to contact your individual pediatrician if this is available at their office and the cost.
