Psychologist Questions Relaxation therapy

Can a psychologist help with relaxation therapy?

I have been under a lot of pressure and stress from work, and it's been having a significant impact on my mental and physical health. I heard of something called relaxation therapy, which may help keep my anxiety and stress under control. Is this something that a psychologist can help me with?

Yes, it is. HOWEVER, MAKE SURE THE PSYCHOLOGIST HAS SOME TRAINING AND SKILL IN THIS AREA FOR BEST RESULTS.
Yes, definitely--a psychologist/therapist can help with "relaxation therapy," which takes many forms, e.g. biofeedback, meditation exercises, mindfulness training, etc. You can learn skills which will help you modulate and manage stress hormones in your body and your physiological reactions to stress and environmental pressure, which your mind mediates. Please consult with a therapist to help you learn these skills--it's likely to be a short term treatment, which may not take longer than 8 sessions. Good luck to you!
Yes. Try to find psychologists who apply "mindfulness" techniques in their treatment. There is a quite big list of relaxation skills you can learn in session with a psychologist and practice whenever you fell the anxiety arriving.

Yes, that is one of the skills psychotherapists practice and are happy to provide clients.
Absolutely! Therapists teach meditation, relaxation methods such as Jacobsonian relaxation, and hypnosis (my specialty). Many will make personalized recordings for you; like shoes, a good fit is important.
Not all can or do but try a holistic medical center. Most areas have then now a days. You can try calling a psychologist and ask for free to see if they use or can do that type of treatment.
Psychologist can be helpful in dealing with anxiety and stress. They have a huge tool kit to draw upon to help people relax.
