OB-GYN (Obstetrician-Gynecologist) Questions Pelvic Pain

What could be the reason behind sudden pain around my right ovary?

I am 35 years old and I have been suffering from severe pain around my right ovary. The stabbing pain starts all of a sudden and subsides on its own. I have been noticing this often from the last 10 days. What could be the possible cause for this pain? Should I consult a doctor or wait it out?

Such sudden pain may be ovulatory pain. If it becomes persistent, visit your doc to have a detailed assessment.
Pain could be due to any number of things including non OB/GYN issues. Possibilities include appendicitis, but not likely would go on for 10 days and usually associated with fever, and nausea and possibly vomiting. If these symptoms exist, yes, you need to be seen ASAP.
Kidney stone a possibility, but most likely would take an ultrasound or other type of imaging to detect. If OB related, could be an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy, but if that is the case, a pregnancy test would be positive. If so, these are emergencies and need to be evaluated and treated immediately.
If you are not on BCPs, then could be an ovarian cyst or an issue tied to ovulation. If that is the case, should hopefully fade with time. Ovarian torsion is also a possibility, but not likely to last this long. If persists or progresses, then needs to be evaluated and if fever/chills or positive pregnancy test, needs ASAP evaluation.

This is a very broad overview. Do not hesitate to seek medical advice if you have concerns.

Good luck.

Please consult your gynecologist as this could be an ovarian cyst.
Could be ovulatory pain, but depends on when it occurs. Could also be a cyst forming or even the early sign of an ectopic pregnancy all depending on when this is occurring and how long it is lasting your method of contraception, etc. If in doubt, always see, discuss and be examined by your doctor.
Definitely consult your gynecologist as soon as possible. You need a pelvic exam as well as probably some blood work an an ultrasound. The pain could be anything from a simple ovarian cyst to a possible ectopic pregnancy. Don't delay!
It can be ovarian torsion or infection too. You should see your obgyn asap.
You can develop a cyst of your ovary that may cause pain. You should see your doctor.
Pelvic pain could be caused by gas, ovarian cysts, muscle spasm, or nerve compression. If continues and not relieved with pain medication, or increases in intensity, then please go and get evaluated.
It is always better to have a consultation face to face with your physician concerning any new worrisome symptoms.

Could be cyst in ovary you must see gynecologist who will order pelvic sonogram
Ovulation, wait 10 days before seeing a doctor.
Please consult a doctor - it could be an ovarian cyst developing and growing. An exam and maybe an ultrasound in the office can easily point to the cause of the problem.
