Hospice and Palliative Care Specialist Questions Hospice Care

When is it the right time to move a loved one to hospice care?

My mother in law has cancer and is progressively getting worse. We want her to be comfortable. When should we be moving her to hospice care?

You have not mentioned the type of cancer and stage of cancer. If the cancer is in terminal stages, and plan to not take any further anti-cancer treatments (due to being ineffective or causing adverse effects) and the focus of care is to be comfortable, then it is reasonable to consider hospice services.
