Should I See a Doctor for Chronic Joint Pain?

I am a 40-year-old female and I have chronic joint pain. I am taking painkillers for it. Should I see a doctor for chronic joint pain?

If you are requiring pain killers for the discomfort, then an evaluation is certainly warranted. You do not want to be on pain pills long-term, as they have significant side effects. The level of pain suggests that there is something worth evaluating and potentially treating.
YES. You should find a doctor that finds the diagnosis and treats the underlying problem. Painkillers are NOT treatment. They only cover up the problem and in the long run will make your joints worse. See a rheumatologist if possible.

Hope it helps!!

Yes. You should see an orthopedic physician and have a standing X-ray of your knee. Also, let him know of any resent infections or tick bites, and any buckling or giving out of your knee.
