“What are the signs of dehydration in a newborn?”
My baby is 28 days old. I am told I can't feed water to my baby until she's 6 months old. Won't this lead to dehydration? Of course I trust my doctors but I can't help but worry. What are the symptoms of dehydration in a newborn?

Your baby should have formula or mothers milk. If she isnt making urine that is a sign of dehydration Michael L Spear, MD, MSEdl Faculty Advisor, Honor Board Professor of Pediatrics Drexel University College of Medicine
Breastmilk is the best hydration for babies. you should use milk instead of plain water. If baby is thirsty or hungry she will drink milk.
She should make urine at least 3-4 times a day, and be active and alert, and wake up normally to feed, and look vigorous and strong. If concerns have her checked by her pediatrician sooner than later.

There is no reason to provide extra water to the babies. There is adequate water intake from the breast milk or formula. Giving additional water puts the baby at risk for electrolyte imbalance and its adverse consequences. Your doctor is correct in not recommending giving additional water. The symptoms would include diminished urine output, sinking or sunken anterior fontanelle (soft spot on the head), dry tongue and dry mouth.
