Neurosurgeon Questions Brain surgery

Why has my father's speech become so slow after a brain surgery?

My father met with a bad road accident and miraculously escaped. But he had to undergo a brain surgery and now his speech has become very slow. Will it recover with time?

It will likely improve, but possibly not to his previous abilities. When a person has a bad accident like this, their brain is shaken badly: microscopic brain damage usually occurs. If this has been particularly bad, then recovery can be poor.
It's impossible to predict, especially without seeing and examining him, and seeing his imaging studies. However, much like after a stroke, there is usually improvement that may continue for up to over a year. So, there is certainly hope for recovery.
