Vascular Surgeon Questions Spider Veins

I notice that I have spider veins on my legs. How is this treated?

How are spider veins typically treated? They're on my legs and they're causing me to have quite a bit of pain. Is it usually with surgery? Is it invasive?

Injection sclerotherapy is most common, where a very small needle is inserted directly into the vein to deliver a medicine that injures the inner lining of the vein and then allows it to slowly collapse and disappear. It is not considered surgery.
If you have spider veins only and not varicose veins( these are larger than 3 mm), you can get injection Sclerotherapy. This is an outpatient procedure with the injection of a chemical directly into the veins.
Your leg veins need to be checked with ultrasound. Sometimes an office base procedure is needed for veins. If the ultrasound does not show a problem, the spider veins could be treated with sclerotherapy
There is a procedure done to treat spider veins, sclerotherapy. It is minimally invasive and doesn't require hospitalization or anesthesia.
You need to have a proper ultrasound looking at the function of the valves within the deep veins of your leg as well as the superficial veins of the leg. Depending upon what this shows will really dictate her treatment. If he just have spider veins usually sclerotherapy is necessary.
Spider veins may be a symptom of underlying venous insufficiency or venous hypertension. If those are ruled out spider veins may be treated simply by laser or chemical sclerotherapy.
Injection scerotherapy or laser treatment are the usual treatments. Laser is best used in patients with fair skin. Sclerotherapy is better in my opinion.
Spider veins can be treated with sclerotherapy or laser.

They are treated with a minimally invasive procedure performed in the office called sclerotherapy.
