Ophthalmologist Questions Eye Discharge

What should I do for the continuous sticky discharge from my eyes?

For the last 3 days, my eyes have been discharging this weird sticky substance. Could this be some kind of infection? Will it settle on its own or should I visit a doctor?

A complete ophthalmologic exam should be performed to determine the cause of your symptoms.
You should see an eye doctor. This may simply be dry eye, requiring otc tears, but may be infection of the eyelid glands.
You should visit a doctor. At the moment, there's no telling what it is, and if it is an infection, it will only get worse.
Time to see an eye care professional.
If the vision remains fine and the eyes are not red and/or painful, then this is probably a reflection of eye dryness. Start by adding a 1/8 inch or so ribbon of plain eye ointment each night before sleeping to each eye. This may correct the problem. If not , add artificial, over the counter tears during the day. If still persistent, then see an ophthalmologist.
A discharge of any type needs to be evaluated by an eye care professional, especially if you wear contact lenses.

If it's only sticky with no redness, pain, or blurry vision, you may simply do warm compress, lid scrubs, and use lubricant eye drops and ointment. If it doesn't get better, see an ophthalmologist.
The fact it is in both eyes, is sticky, and has gone on 3 days, makes it likely to be a bacterial or allergic conjunctivitis. Depending on its cause, it may resolve on its own or not.
An infection or allergy could be the cause. Dryness also cause similar symptoms. Try Lubricants or see an eye doctor
