This could be an injury or the start of an inflammatory problem - Please be evaluated
While your symptoms may be caused by rheumatoid arthritis, there could be other causes. You should consult a rheumatologist for an evaluation.
An acute, inflammatory condition at the wrist may suggest arthritis, tendonitis, infection, or another condition. While rheumatoid arthritis may present suddenly in one joint, it is more important to rule out other causes or conditions and an examination with your medical provider is needed to rule urgent problems like infection.
Most likely to be tendonitis or possibly early reactive arthritis. Usually treated with anti-inflammatory drugs, but also may have to use antibiotics to cover infection.
Hi, it's definitely impossible to diagnose without seeing the patient. There can be lots of different reasons for your pain, please see a local rheumatologist for blood work and radiologic studies.
