Hematologist-Oncologist Questions Blood

What are the symptoms of a blood infection?

Are there any symptoms of a blood infection or does it only have to be diagnosed through a test? My mother died of a blood infection and it always worries me for myself and my family. Please help.

Blood infections usually start from other infections. Fever is the only sign of an infection. If an infection needs to be treated it should be to prevent it from becoming a blood infection.
fever, low blood pressure, fatigue, confusion, but the most important of all is fever. Anytime you have fever, see the doctor as soon as possible. If you are taking steroid, you might not show fever, then you need to watch your blood pressure and overall physical well being if not feeling good, see the doctor.
