“Can you suggest a suitable medication for my grandmother's throat pain?”
My grandmother has been suffering from a lot of throat pain for the past week. She has been using cold medicine, but it hasn't worked yet. Can you please suggest a suitable medication for her? She is also 84 years old.

Your grandmother should really see her doctor. We must make sure that there is no infection. I would stay away from benedryl.
Would start with something like Cepacol throat spray. If not successful, would then also think to r/o reflux with a trial of H2 blocker or PPI.
