Optometrist Questions Squinty eyes

Is there any way to treat squinty eyes without surgery?

My son has squinty eyes and I would like to correct it without surgery. Is there anything that you can recommend?

Is your son an adult? There is a new eye drop for adults with benign eyelid ptosis. He should see his Optometrist for a medical evaluation to rule out any health conditions before they could prescribe this new eye drop. You can research Upneeq.com for more information.
If your son is squinting, I would suggest having an eye doctor check to see if a prescription for glasses or contact lenses may eliminate the need to squint. Squinting sometimes creates a "pinhole effect" (a smaller pupil) allowing one to see better. Have the doctor check for nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism as well as a full eye health evaluation including eye pressure, retina, and all internal structures. Surgery may be totally unnecessary. Good luck.
There is a new product called Upneeq on the market that can help elevate your top eyelid into a position that makes your eyes look more alert and awake. The doctor-approved eye drops are an affordable alternative to surgical procedures for upper eyelid drooping.
Yes, vision therapy as well as use of prisms and glasses can be helpful. If not, then strabismus surgery is recommended.
