What is the treatment for night blindness?

My father has been diagnosed with night blindness. What is the best treatment for him?

Unfortunately there is no treatment
Depends on the cause. True night blindness or nyctalopia is rare. He should be evaluated for retinitis pigmentosa and vitamin A deficiency. Other causes are just reduced night vision (not true night blindness) due to cataracts, glaucoma or diabetes and should be separately addressed.
Night blindness is due to retinitis pigmentosa, an untreatable disease.
