My mother sleeps the entire day and is unable to sleep at night. What should I do?

My mother has been sleeping throughout the day and finds it difficult to sleep at night. What should I do about it?

She needs to see a physician, and it sounds like she needs an extensive work-up; including considering a sleep study- Blessings!
Encourage her to get some daily exercise and engage in activities during the day and get outside in fresh air.
Reset her circadian rhythm by sleep depriving during daytime which will restore her proper sleep schedule
Please talk to primary care. It might be depressed or might need an evaluation for sleep apnea. Check medications - is she taking valium or valium-like meds?
Need to know your mothers age and medicines etc. maybe your mother needs to find things to keep her occupied during the day so she will be tired at night.
Sleep diary and good sleep hygiene.
