Dermatologist Questions Facial Hair

Can waxing on the face cause side effects?

I have been growing a lot of facial hair lately, mainly on my chin and upper lip. I usually shave my upper lip and tweeze my chin hair, but now it's growing way too fast. Should I consider waxing? What are the side effects, if any?

Waxing will be okay. However, it is important to see why you have an increase in hair growth. You should be seen by your dermatologist so that labs can be drawn to rule out an endocrine disorder such as polycystic ovary disorder.
The real question is what caused the problem. Trying to treat only side effects and ignore the cause is not wise.
