“Why do I have this weird foul smell in my urine?”
I have been experiencing a weird and foul smell in my urine for the past 5 days. I'm wondering if this could be due to the antibiotics that I'm on for a viral infection. Could this be the case?

It's the amount and concentration of various waste products excreted by the kidneys that causes urine odor. It may occur with bladder infection (Cystitis). Some foods and medications, such as asparagus or certain vitamins, can cause a noticeable urine odor. Dehydration also may cause bad urine odor.
Foul smelling urine has multiple causes, including medication. You need to see your PCP, who will then direct you to the correct provider.
