I am a 24 year old male and I use eye drops. What are the best eye drops for dry eye?

Dry eyes can be treated with artificial tears.
It really depends on what type of dry eye (evaporative or aqueous deficient) you have and the severity of the dry eye condition. If you are unsure on what type of dry eye you have, then I would highly recommend you visit your local eye care professional to have a dry eye evaluation. I usually recommend 'Systane Complete' drops to my dry eye patients with a mixed form (both evaporative and aqueous deficient) of dry eyes. If my patient has evaporative dry eye then I usually recommend either 'Soothe XP' or 'Refresh Optive Mega 3' eye drops. If they have aqueous deficient dry eyes, then I usually recommend 'Systane Hydrate PF' or 'Refresh Relieva PF' (both are preservative free). Most people who have dry eye have some form of both types of dry eye, so using 'Systane Complete' may help to relieve your dry eye symptoms. Again, seeking the help of your eyecare professional is your best bet, since he/she will be able to properly evaluate and treat your dry eye condition appropriately.
There are several good eye drops for dry eye. Some work better for certain people and for certain types of dry eye. My favorites include but are not limited to: Theratears, SootheXP, Refresh Relieva, and Systane Complete
There are so many eye drops available, both over the counter and prescription. There are also a lot of different reasons for dry eyes. The tear film is made up of three different layers and different eye drops work to help the different layers. The best way to find out what the appropriate drop is for your eyes, is to see an eye doctor for a full dry eye evaluation. They would do the appropriate tests to see what is going on with your eyes.
I like systane complete
Restasis, cequa, systane, refresh, etc.
Artificial eyedrops like tear supplements, minimums, or one-use eyedrops are best.
Unfortunately, there is no single best drop. Human tear film consists of three major components: aqueous liquid, fatty acids and mucin. Some drops maintain the aqueous layer, others add mineral oil, some add polymers to replace mucin. So, it's a trial and error, or see an MD to evaluate what type the condition would be helped by best. Sometimes you need more than just these drops. Initially just try TheraTears, Systane or Refresh Complete, Genteal, etc.
