What are the treatment options for a wisdom tooth cavity?

I am a 26 year old male. I have a wisdom tooth cavity. What are the treatment options for a wisdom tooth cavity?

Most often times, the wisdom tooth nearly useless. Even if the tooth is upright and seems to be in good alignment, you do less than 6% of your chewing on them. They are most often times very difficult to clean, thus causing decay at some point. Sometimes this decay may affect the other, more important molars. For this reason, I most often times remove the tooth ideally in the late teen years, early 20’s.
Depending on the extent of the decay, it can be repaired by either a filling or it might need something more substantial structurally like a crown. The other option would be to remove the wisdom tooth. It is common to make the decision based on the position of the wisdom tooth and if it is in function with other teeth.

Thanks for asking. Without seeing the tooth, I can only give you some broad answers. As with any tooth, it can be restored or removed. If you decide to restore the tooth and if there is sufficient tooth structure, then you're looking at a filling (white or silver) or some type of crown. If the nerve (pulp) of the tooth is involved, a root canal may be necessary as well. I suggest you see a dentist to decide it the tooth can be saved. Then you can discuss your options.
Hope this helps.

It depends on the particular tooth and its prognosis for staying healthy in the mouth. Some wisdom teeth should just be extracted, others could have a filling to repair a cavity. In more severe cases, a wisdom tooth may require a root canal or crown, or both.
If the cavity is not too big it can be filled, but probably just needs to be pulled
