Surgery is the only way to remove cataracts.
Glasses or Cataract Surgery. See an ophthalmologist.
There are several methods for cataract removal. One uses blades and ultrasound. The other is laser and ultrasound. A cataract cannot be completely removed with laser. There are many different lens implant options. Lenses that can correct astigmatism and fix fat midrange and near vision. You would need to be guided by the ophthalmologist as to your different surgery and lens options available to you.
Glasses or Surgery. If a change in the glasses prescription does not improve the vision significantly, surgery will be necessary.SO
The only choices that exist are either surgery or observation. Cataract surgery is elective and if a patient is happy with his/her vision, then they do not need cataract surgery. You can just leave it.

If the cataracts are visually significant and limiting activities of daily life, they are typically removed surgically and replaced with a new clear lens.
The only proven treatment is cataract surgery.

UV protection and Vitamin C slow down cataracts as well as avoiding any smoke fumes to the eyes. Cataracts are a natural aging process that happens to everyone. Most people start having cataracts in their 40s and 50s but aren’t ready for surgery until they hit their 70s or 80s. Trauma, poor nutrition, certain medical conditions, and trauma can speed up cataracts. When the vision gets too bothersome, cataract surgery is a quick procedure (5-10 minutes for most surgeons) and typically it reduces the need for glasses.
Surgery when your vision is not corrected with glasses and you are symptomatic.
No treatment when vision is still good. It can be many years before you need surgery. Surgery is usually quick and easy
