One Tylenol and one Advil combination works well. But I recommend you see a dentist and get it evaluated.
Depends how severe the pain is. Start with 400mg of Advil or Motrin, and see your dentist as soon as possible to address the pain.
You really need to see a Dentist to determine the cause before you decide what to take for pain.
Advil and Tylenol.
Find out the cause and get the cause removed. It could be decay, nerve damage, cracked tooth, bite issues, abfractions, or diet issues. In the meantime, 2 tylenol or 2 advil or take 2 of each.

Tooth nerve pain is usually caused by an inflamed nerve in the tooth (pulp). The best thing to use at home would be 800 mg of Motrin (ibuprofen). It is especially good for inflammation. The next step is to see you dentist as soon as possible to see if you need to have a filling placed or a root canal.
