Orthopaedic Surgeon Questions Labral tear

What can I do about the labral tear in my hip?

I'm a 30 year old male. An MRI found a labral tear in my hip. The pain in my hip is becoming unbearable. What are my options?

The first step should be physical therapy and using nonsteroidal medication. If this is not helpful you should consult an orthopedic surgeon experienced in the hip arthroscopies. Hip arthroscopies are technically very challenging but the results are good in the hands of an experienced surgeon.
See a doc that does hip arthroscopy
Find an orthopedic surgeon that has done a fellowship in hip arthroscopy. There are not that many around, although some **claim** they are hip arthroscopy specialists. Labral tears don't heal, so you will need surgery. I've been doing hip arthroscopy for 20 years, so make sure the doc is experienced!

Hope it helps!!

1. Consistent nsaids
2. Trial of intraarticular injection
3. Hip scope with labral repair
You could be a candidate for a Hip Arthroscopy. I would recommend you see an Orthopedist who performs Hip Arthroscopy to determine the best course of action.
