Dentist Questions Wisdom Tooth Extraction

What can I eat one week after wisdom tooth removal?

I need to have a wisdom tooth extraction next week, but I'm just curious about what I can and cannot eat after it. What can I eat one week after wisdom teeth removal?

After 1 week, you should be fine to return to a normal diet.
You can eat anything you normally eat, just avoid popcorn and anything that gets stuck between your teeth.

You will be sore at first so you will initially only be able to eat soft foods but as you feel better you can eat whatever you like just remember to rinse to keep area clean
Anything you want.

What you can eat will depend on a few factors, including difficulty in removing them, stitches, and your overall recovery rate. Soft foods are generally recommended for the first week. The doctor will recommend what you can eat after your follow-up appointment, depending on how well your home care is and your rate of healing.
The first 48 hrs make sure you eat cold food like smoothies, pudding, cheese cake, mashed potatoes, oatmeal, cheese and eggs. Those kind of foods help to come the inflammation down after extraction. Avoid spice and crunchy foods, roasted vegetables and meat. The healing process varies depending on how the teeth/tooth extracted. If it was traumatic extraction, the healing process will take too long and you might need to stick with the soft foods for a while.
It depends on the surgery. In most cases after one week you can eat normally as long as you irrigate the sockets after eating to wash out any trapped food particles. Your surgeon will go over all of that at your appointment.
