What can I expect from an apicectomy?

I'm going to get an apicectomy and my dentist promises me that this will be a minor procedure and that I have nothing to really worry about. I'm going to have this procedure done on my bottom front tooth. What can I expect from this procedure? How will it be performed?

Lower anterior is easier than upper, a minor procedure with local anesthetic, with a small incision & flap to remove necrotic tissues by curettage & high suction, replace flap with suture and antibiotic therapy.
Every case is individual, as is the pain perception, but in general, it is a minor procedure. However, the more surgical trauma, the more swelling and possibly pain may occur.
Pretty basic procedure. No worse than the root canal itself.
