My son has had ear pain for 2 days. What causes ear pain in children?

Ear pain can be caused by ear infection,Tonsillitis, were conditions or problems were distant from ear through a nerve called vagus nerve. First thing is a careful ear exam nose and throat exam.
This could be middle ear infection, external ear infection, teething pain, TMJ pain etc. His ears would need to be checked to see if they are infected
