What causes loss of interdental papilla?

I am a 35 year old male. I want to know what causes loss of interdental papilla?

Many reasons, one of which is loss of interdental bone, or loss of tooth structure around the papilla!
Bone usually supports the papilla. If you lose bone, you will lose interdental papilla
It is usually due to gum (periodontal} disease or recession or if there is an open contact and food continues to get stuck between the teeth.
