“What causes seniors to sun-down?”
I am a 51 year old male. I was staying overnight with my elderly father and saw him "sun-downing". What causes seniors to sun-down?

Many causes including infection, depression, pain, Alzheimer's, dementia, medications etc..
"Sundowning" or late day confusion is a symptom of Alzheimers like dementia & other dementias. It is thought to be due to a disruption in a persons circadian rhythms although the exact mechanism is unknown.
