A sports chiropractor is still going to evaluate the body and make sure that the nervous system is functioning at its highest potential by making sure the body is aligned from a bony standpoint. However, a sports chiropractor is also more likely to evaluate the soft tissue structures.
They are specifically trained in handling all sports related injuries from concussion protocols to handling injuries on the field.
They tend to focus on caring for athletes but many chiropractors can treat many athletic injuries.
There are different types of sports chiropractors. Some chiropractors get further training and become certified chiropractic sports physicians. Others chiropractors have background and experience working with athletes to help correct movement patterns to improve athletic performance and prevent injuries; they treat sports related injuries using a variety of modalities such as corrective exercises, stretches, kinesiology taping, ultrasound, soft tissue mobilization/massage techniques, electric muscle stimulation; also, they can use this wide variety of treatment options on athletes and non-athletes for overuse injuries that may not be related to sports, but to posture problems because of poor work station ergonomics, daily home activities such as cleaning, cooking or gardening, etc. A sports chiropractor tends to be more thorough in his/her treatment and assessment of each patient to provide quality care and optimal results.
That's a great question. Generally speaking it is a Chiropractic Doctor that not only will work with general Chiropractic patients, but also will spend time working with the athletic population as well. We may work a little more soft tissue or active muscle techniques to compliment the Chiropractic Care most athletes generally already use. All current NFL and MLB teams employ a Chiropractor as part of their medical teams.
Chiropractor specialty is adjusting the spine. The key is to find somebody who does that really well and also cannot handle sports injuries and maximizing athletic performance. Active release technique is the best way to handle most sports performance issues. Again, you need a doctor of chiropractic and also adjust the spine extremely well!
Sports chiropractors perform biomechanical and structural exam. Then a multimodal treatment plan will be designed to correct and or strengthen those muscle imbalances, disfunctions and deficits
Sports chiropractors vary as individuals, but generally speaking, they do more with joints beyond just the spine (ankles, wrist, etc.), and some do some soft tissue work such as blades, Active Release, Myofascial release, or other soft tissue techniques.

All sports injuries are welcome in a chiropractic office!
Sports chiropractors specialize in treating athletes. Many athletes visit a chiropractor to improve their game and reduce the chance of injury. If an athlete is injured, the sports chiropractor will treat the injuries.
Sports chiropractors have a focus on dealing with athletes and their injuries, they are educated the same, however, spend more time dealing with muscles, imbalances, and pain with their patients.
The same a regular chiropractor with the added expertise to get you ready as rehabbed to resume your sport while attempting to prevent further injury. Knowledge of the biomechanics and the physical nature of your sport is crucial in developing a treatment plan to resume and sometimes improve performance.
Sports Chiropractors specialize in sports related injuries. This usually means injuries of the extremities (ankle, foot, knee, elbow, shoulder, etc). They also manage a lot of soft tissue injuries like sprains, muscle strains, labrum tears etc. A lot of sports chiros also adjust the extremities as well as the spine.
