A true pinched nerve can feel like numbness and tingling that radiates down the arm or leg, or even a burning sensation in the skin in a specific way. If it's very bad, there could be muscle weakness in the muscles that nerve supplies. The term "pinched nerve" can be used colloquially to describe a sharp feeling that happens with movement, but that sensation is rarely
caused by a pinched nerve. It's still a problem and something that can be fixed.
Hope that helps.
Typically, a pinched nerve results in numbness, tingling, and weakness. If you suspect you have a pinched nerve, you should get it checked out as soon as possible by a health care practitioner who specializes in neuromusculoskeletal disorders, like most chiropractors.
A pinched nerve will usually have radiating pain, tingling and numbness down the arm past the elbow and into the hand. Nerve pain also tends to be intense and burning.
