After induction of general anesthesia, all patients stop breathing temporarily until the anesthesiologist breathes for them continuously and maintains their unconsciousness and analgesia during surgery.
Actually, we frequently assist and even control your breathing while under general anesthesia.
During general anesthesia your breathing will be continually monitored and supported. Anesthesia providers are trained to provide breathing assistance anytime it is needed during general anesthesia.
