Your ophthalmologist will help you determine what the best medicine is for your condition.
Well for you to know the best medication for your glaucoma it is best to consult and ophthalmologist as s/he will be the best person to know what kind of glaucoma do you have and what are the best treatment for you and what to do to stop the progressiveness of your state.
There are many different medicines that may work for you, there are pros and cons of all of them. You may also want to consider SLT. It is a laser treatment done in the office to treat glaucoma. You should ask you eye surgeon which he/she recommends for you.
There is no best medicine. One needs to use the medication(s) available that keeps the intraocular pressure in the normal or low normal range. Conventional Ophthalmologists have only the use of drops to lower the pressure and surgical techniques to keep the pressure down. While there are non-conventional techniques using supplements, etc, none are well tested.
The best medicine is what your specialist gives you. There are always new ones, but check with your doctor.
