Atrial fibrillation is the most common rhythm disturbance of the heart. In a young patient like you the best option would be ablation which is performed by an Electrophysiologist as an outpatient. Ablation means burning of some part of heart tissue that causes the rhythm problems.

You should see, be evaluated, and be followed by an expert electrophysiologist (cardiologist who is an expert in arrhythmias). He or she can discuss treatment options on what would be best for you.
There is no such thing as best treatment. But to get adequate blood thinner. This will hopefully toprevent blood clots forming & moving to other parts of the body.
At your young age you should consider a catheter ablation, and if that fails pursue minimally invasive hybrid ablation with an experienced surgeon.
