Dentist Questions Periodontitis

What is the treatment for periodontitis?

I was diagnosed with periodontitis last week by my dentist, and I'm being referred to a periodontist. How would I be treated for this disease?

This depends on the severity of the disease. Most often it is treated through a process called scaling and root planing. During this process, the patient is anesthetized so that the hygienist or periodontist can reach down to the diseased areas of the gums and remove the bacteria and infected tissue. This will be followed with frequent follow ups to prevent recurrence and alter oral hygiene habits as needed.
Periodontitis is a multifactorial group of symptoms that begin with improper cleaning of the teeth which leads to swollen, irritated, and painful gum tissue with a bacterial component and sometimes a change in the pH balance of the mouth itself. This requires a systemic approach to determine weather cleaning and proper hygiene Fallen firefighter cup visits more often than normally recommended, instructions in fastidious flossing and oral hygiene must be instituted along with oral arrogance and I think a proper diet survey to determine if the problem is dietary in origin. Remember this problem did not arise quickly so it would not be treated quickly rather a long process to get your mouth back in Optimum oral health. Good thing you are appointing with a periodontist as this is The Specialist of choice to handle this particular problem you are having
