Anesthesiologist Questions Hemorrhoids

What kind of anesthesia is used for hemorrhoid surgery?

I'm about to get surgery for large hemorrhoids next week, and I'm curious about the anesthesia that's going to be used. I haven't spoken to my anesthesiologist yet. What kind of anesthesia is used for hemorrhoid surgery?

All depends of position. In supine position ; laying in your back .could be general. In prone position ; you laying over your belly.I recommend Spinal block.
Usually general but that surgery can be done under spinal or epidural anesthesia
Spinal anesthesia is safest!

Best regards,
It can be done under spinal where they put a local anesthetic in your lower spine and numb you from the waist down, or can be done under general anesthesia. You can discuss it with your anesthesiologists on the day of surgery.
Definitely ask your anesthesiologist. Many options exist, coming down to your and your surgeon's preferences.
