Fevers alone are never a reason to take a child to the hospital. Increased body temperatures are a defense mechanism against invading viruses or bacteria. It all depends upon the symptoms, and the hospital should not be your first thought. They are not good places to be unless you absolutely have to go there. Your pediatrician should be your first thought, and
