When should I see a doctor about jaw pain?

I am a 29 year old female. My jaw has been in pain for 3 days after a dental cleaning. When should I see a doctor about jaw pain?

Would recommend seeing the dentist for follow up.
You should call and speak to the doctor who did your cleaning right away. Sometimes the jaw joints, like any other joint in the body, can get strained. It is possible your jaw muscles and tendons became irritated form holding your mouth open during your cleaning. Like any joint it should respond to rest and medication. Please consult with your dentist right away.

Without more details, i.e., sensitivity, discomfort in any teeth prior to your visit, any history of limited opening and/or TMJ issues, or clinical findings such as decay or periodontal problems, my best advice would be for you to call the office where you had your teeth cleaned and speak to the dentist to see what is recommended for you.
