It depends on you. If you can avoid either it's best.
They are both very good anti inflammatory medicines. It depends on the individual and how your body reacts to them.
Both of the medications are good pain relievers in terms of reducing pain. However, they are metabolized via different organs. Ibuprofen mostly burdens your kidney and Acetaminophen burdens your liver. At low dose, there is no major difference. if you are taking a higher dose, it is recommended to take them alternating to reduce the damage of either of your kidney or liver.
Ibuprofen will work better to reduce pain than acetaminophen (Tylenol). Even though both medicines are over the counter medicines, they must be used with caution. Ibuprofen can cause acid reflux so should be taken with food. Too much Tylenol can cause liver damage. You should not more than 2,400mgs of Tylenol or products with acetaminophen per day and definitely do not drink alcohol with Tylenol. Try to use non-medicinal alternatives in addition to these pain medicines to reduce your pains as well.
