Hello, For face, none of these should be used. They are too unpredictable and may destroy your face in the long term, making it uneven. There are other procedures that are much safer and more predictable. You can visit my website at DrRoya.com for further information.
It depends on what you look like and how much adipose tissue you have under your chin and possibly your neck. You are young and I assume you may have always had some extra adipose tissue under your chin in adolescence. I would prefer liposculpturing your chin and neck. there are no noticeable scars and it is permanent. I am totally responsible for your result. You have minimal bruising, performed possibly only under local anesthesia but most what with some sedation, and takes less than an hour. The result looks great the next day and improves a little more over a couple months. The problem with CoolScupting or Kybella is that the treatment is longer, over multiple treatments, takes months to see much of a result. Usually, these treatments are not performed by a plastic surgeon or even in a plastic surgery practice but by a nurse practitioner or a nurse. you may see a physician who is not a plastic surgeon, prescribes it for you as you said you wanted it, charges you much$ and may never see you again. he is not responsible for any result as the machine or Kybella did it, he did nothing himself. However, he will get your money. Go to a plastic surgeon who has years of experience and has the responsibility to give you the result that you want. Neck contouring is very common when performing a facelift with adipose tissue in the neck. This would be simple for a good plastic surgeon as you are young and want an exact shaping of an undesirable feature. This always gives the best result and is permanent.
Both are great treatments to get rid of fat. It really depends on the amount of fat you need to get rid of and the number of treatments you are willing to have. Generally, both can get rid of a good amount of fat but Kybella needs more treatments than CoolSculpting. Procedures such as liposuction on the other hand will only need one treatment and can get rid of more fat from the face.
Neither are really good for your face. Kybella has risk of irregularities and possible nerve injury. Coolsculpting hurts a lot, has uneven results and requires 3 treaments. A far better way is microlipo or simple fat removal-fast recovery, predictable, and one procedure
I think neither one is very effective.
