Why are my sons eyes always red?

My son is 8 years old and his eyes have been red for almost 2 weeks. What could be the cause? Should I take him to a doctor?

Since there are many causes for red eyes (some emergent and some non-emergent), I would recommend visiting an eye care professional immediately to determine the cause especially if the red eyes hasn’t resolved for 2 weeks.
This could be allergies, try zyrtec or claritin and make sure he is not rubbing them. If no better with a week of this he may need further workup.
Most likely allergies, but could also be dry eyes or infections.
