Your muscles get shortened after the workout. You need to stretch your biceps after the workout to prevent the contraction.
When you over work and over use the biceps muscle the fibers become inflamed and shortened. Picture a rubber band that’s pulled and stretched. What happens when you let go?
Same with muscle fibers. After several hours luckily the body will restore itself to the proper muscle balance and you’ll be good as new. That’s the beauty of the body’s inner intelligence to maintain homeostasis.
It sounds like you may be overtraining the biceps causing them to tighten too much therefore causing difficulty in extending the elbow. Try stretching the biceps and strengthening the triceps as well. If the condition worsens, take some time off from curls to give the biceps time to heal.
Lactic acid build-up. More water!
This is usually due to tightness in the biceps. What you should do immediately after your bicep workout is stretch the biceps for at least 5 minutes. This will increase your range of motion, flexibility, and overall strength of the muscles and tendons.
Elbows can hurt for a number of reasons, if it is long standing there may be an issue with the alignment in the elbow which a chiropractor could definitely help with, but like you said the most important thing is getting to the cause of the problem and correcting that!
