Dentist Questions tooth pain

Why do my teeth hurt when I bite down?

I'm 28 years old, and lately when I'm eating things, my back molars have been hurting me. I'm not sure what the cause could be since it doesn't really feel like cavity pain. Why is this happening?

There are different reasons teeth may hurt on biting. One of them is the vertical or horizontal crack of the tooth. Also, we need to know it is hurting when you eat some thing hard or soft. Is it doing that when you eat something sweet? The best way to solve the issue is not to wait until it becomes unbearable. Please contact a dentist to check the area.
Thanks.
Often, you have bruised or caused a new fracture in a tooth. Avoid harder foods, hard mints, ice, hard candy, harder nuts, etc. Cavities usually do not hurt to be honest. It is better if they do not hurt, when they hurt they are usually much deeper and bigger concerns.
Dear Patient,

You will need to see your dentist for an evaluation. They will do some testing Including X-ray. It could be possible infection in the end of root, could be micro fracture, could be gum infection, etc.
That may not be such an easy question to answer. The two most common answers would involve a possible allergy or sinus problem. Another would be if you are grinding or clenching your teeth. If it continues for more than about a week, you should probably see your dentist.
