Physiatrist (Physical Medicine) Questions knee pain

Why does my knee hurt?

I'm 25 years old. My knee hurts very often. When I walk through stairs, when I spend too much time sitting in a chair or when it's cold my knee starts hurting. What could be the cause?

What you're describing sounds like patellofemoral syndrome. Pain is at the front of the knee or around the knee cap. Check out my page on FB, YT or IG @chronicpainrescue for exercises for knee pain. And if you would like to work one on one with me, you can schedule an appointment on my website www.chronicpainrescue.com.
As you know, I cannot diagnose your condition on the internet. But in very general terms, a young person with knee pain who has not had a traumatic event is often caused by tightness or weakness in the muscles. See a good physical therapist first, if that does not help initially, see a specialized physician for this,
I would recommend you follow up with an orthopedist or physiatrist to evaluate your pain. While imaging such as X-rays or MRIs is beneficial, I find a good history and physical exam key. If your inner side of the knee hurts, I suspect it could be Pes Anserine bursitis, a meniscal tear or an MCL injury.
There may be an imbalance of muscle strength and flexibility. There could be many factors involved. Generally, pain is caused by an inflammation. It would benefit you to get evaluated by a physical therapist.
There are many factors can cause knee pain. You need to see a doctor to make a diagnosis first.
