I am a 34 year old female. I will have an endoscopy. Will I be asleep during an endoscopy?

Yes you will be asleep and unaware of anything going on during your endoscopy, but this will not require a breathing tube unless you are having active nausea/vomiting during the time of your endoscopy.
Most of the time, you will feel that you are asleep, but what you will get is IV medication that will keep you out of it, so you will feel asleep. This is if you will have an anesthesia team administering your anesthetic.
