Does a Link Exist Between Concussions and Alzheimer’s?

This study can open the door for other researchers studying degenerative diseases

Although the results of the research did not implicate concussions as a direct cause, the study is still significant, mainly because the findings can open the door to more research that is concentrated on identifying concussion-related factors, which might also connect to other degenerative diseases like Parkinson's and CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy). If these same factors that accelerate the effects of diseases can be more closely studied, then more effective treatments might be developed based on results and images of how the brain reacts to such trauma.
