Nebraska has quite a bit to offer senior citizens. The cost of assisted living facilities is at the national average and the quality of life and healthcare is 14th in the nation.
Nebraska has an actual published plan for its citizens with Alzheimer’s. The state plan has been developed to address the needs of the person with Alzheimer’s and the needs of the caregivers. The plan promises to have information readily available to manage Alzheimer’s and help them thrive. It also gives those with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers support to maintain well-being. Nebraskans living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers are assured they are safe. The plan works with the Department of Health and Human Services, the Office of the Public Guardian, Area Agencies on Aging, the law enforcement community plus client advocacy organizations and health provider organizations.
